March 8 - Peach Blossom Festival Beauty Pageant

Sponsored by Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church  Contact Gina Logue @ 803-637-5383 or Janice Cleveland @ 275-3241 for more information. Event will be held at Johnston Elementary School. Times are10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Age divisions are baby to 20 years old. Proceeds to benefit Little Stevens Creek Youth on Missions.

 

March 15 - 2nd Annual Shamrock Run/Walk

11:00 AM In Memory of Kenneth L. Kaltz. All proceeds will be donated to American Heart Association. Starting line: Bi-Lo, 155 Carolina Square; Finish Line: Edgefield Town Square, Courthouse Square.  Registration: 9:30 AM              Entry Fees: $17.00 through March 10th; Late fee $25.00. March  - F. H. Wardlaw Academy - Annual Auction

Silent Auction, Verbal Auction, & Raffle starts 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.  Auction 7:30 PM Tickets: Adults $10.00 Child $5.00 available at Pendarvis Chevrolet, & Maxwell & Halford Drugs.  Trenton Bar-B-Q to cater.

 

March 20 - 21st Annual Fine Arts Festival

held at JET Middle School Gymnasium 7:00 PM

 

April 16 - Week of the Young Child

April 18 & 19 - March for Parks Earth Day Expo

Bettis Academy Campus  in Trenton, SC.  Sponsored by the National Parks Conservation Association to save endangered parks and historic sites.  Includes a Friday night fish fry and Saturday activities including an early morning walk, rides, concessions, entertainment and a silent auction.  Call Willa Lanham 803-649-7709 for more information.

 

April 26 - Paws in the Park - All God's Creatures Pet Rescue

a fun day in the park at Johnston Elementary School's Mims Park.  Sponsored by All God's Creatures Pet Rescue. For more information contact Denise Holcomb @ 803-275-1735.

May 3 - Johnston Peach Blossom Festival

held first weekend in May.  A celebration held in the Town of Johnston to coincide with the blooming of peach trees.  Friday night street dance, all day Saturday activities and a grand finale Saturday night dance.  Saturday activities include rides, games, vendors, arts and crafts, a parade, and live entertainment.  Johnston Development Association are the sponsor.  Call John Timmerman  803-637-6866(arts &crafts) or Debra Aston 803-275-2345 for more information.      Saturday night dance features The Catalinas, tickets at DJ's Corner Cuts 275-2345 .

held third weekend on the Town Square in Trenton. Honors the peach industry: sponsored by the Trenton Development Association.  Features on Saturday, arts and crafts, games, homemade delicacies, peach ice cream, live entertainment, a parade and softball tournament.  Ends with a street dance Saturday night.  Trenton Community Dev. held on the first weekend in the Town of Edgefield.  Includes Friday and Saturday activities and showcases area's history.  Sponsored by the Edgefield Festival Association.  Most of the activities are on the grounds of historic Oakley Park Museum in the forks of Highway 25 and Highway 23.  Cook off contest (SC BBQ Association-sanctioned event), classic car show, antique tractor show, motorcycle poker run, entertainment, rides, arts and crafts, and various festival foods.

November 22 - 38th Annual SC State Turkey Calling Contest

held at Wild Turkey Center, Edgefield, SC  12 NOON  Calling contest feature various ages and skills including: the Jimbo Long Memorial Competition for callers 16 - 20 yrs. old; competition for children under 15; top callers from other states will also be on hand to compete with local callers in the event's South Carolina Open.  Registration begins at 10:00 AM.  Shop local outdoor and supply booths along with clothing and outdoor gear at the Wild Turkey Center's Turkey Shoppe.  Lunch 11 AM until 1:30 PM  General admission $3.00, children 12 and under free.  Contact Tammy Condrey 803-637-3106 ext. 3742 for more information.  Hosted by NWTF's Edgefield Local #1 Chapter. tcondrey@nwtf.net

 

December - Edgefield Christmas Parade
