February 7 - Book Signing - Freshwater Coast Discovery Center
"Stop Where the Parking Lot's Full" authors: Aida Rogers and Tim Driggers will be on hand at the Freshwater Coast Discovery Center, 405 Main Street, Edgefield for a book signing 10:00 until 12:00 PM. Sandlapper's popular column has been complied into a book! Here's your essential guide to more than 150 of South Carolina's favorite restaurants, complete with photo of people, places and food.
February 24 - Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
The Episcopal Church of the Ridge will be hosting the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 6-7:30 PM at Trinity Parish Hall in Edgefield, SC. Admissions is $3.00 per person and "carry-out" plates will be available.
March 28 - Peach Blossom Festival Beauty Pageant
Sponsored by Little Stevens Creek Baptist Church Contact Gina Logue @ 803-637-5383 or Janice Cleveland @ 275-3241 for more information. Event will be held at Johnston Elementary School. Featuring three divisions for young ladies ranging in age from infant to 20 years of age. Proceeds to benefit Little Stevens Creek Youth on Missions. Deadline for registration for contestants in March 18th. Winners will be expected to participate in Peach Blossom Festival Parade on May 2nd.
March 14 - 3rd Annual Shamrock Run/Walk

May 2nd - Johnston Peach Blossom Festival
held first weekend in May. A celebration held in the Town of Johnston to coincide with the blooming of peach trees. Friday night street dance, all day Saturday activities and a grand finale Saturday night dance. Saturday activities include rides, games, vendors, arts and crafts, a parade, and live entertainment. Trenton Flyers Annual Candy Drop
October 31st at the Edgefield County Airport, Yonce Field in Trenton. Planes will be on display and candy will drop from the sky at 12:00 noon for the children. Rain or shine the candy will flow.

8:30 AM until 5:00 PM @ the Wild Turkey Center headquarters. Registration includes lunch and costs $30.00 for NWTF members or $60.00 for non-members. Women are invited to learn, laugh, and lightened up for the day and bring their daughter, sister, mom or best friend - or come and meet new friends!
Enjoy hands-on and stress-free experience from expert instructors in a variety of classes including archery, candle making, canoeing, outdoor survival, self protection, shot gunning and Dutch oven cooking.
November 19 - National Wild Turkey Federation's 2009 Edgefield Chapter Banquet
Special quest, Michael Waddell. The event will feature door prizes, raffles, both live and silent auctions, catered barbecue and photo opportunities with Waddell. The family friendly event will also have a kid's zone with video games and more.
"Wild West Night" - attendees are encouraged to wear their boots, spurs and cowboy hats. Tickets costs $50.00 for adults: $80.00 for couples, $20.00 for youth ages 6 to 17, and kids 5 and under are free. Tickets include dinner entry into all door prize drawings, an NWTF membership and one-year subscription to Turkey Country magazine.

1st Sunday in December - Edgefield Christmas Parade @ 4:00 PM
